A SIX-YEAR OLD'S PASSION THAT BECAME A COLLECTOR'S DREAM

Hi guys! This is Santhosh and I am so thrilled to finally bring this wonderfully curated collection of vintage comics to you in great quality and great prices.

I was introduced to comic books when I was 6 by my friends in first grade. I still remember the feeling of reading that book like it was yesterday. It was Man of Steel #1 by John Byrne and I remember Superman and so many story panels from that book even today. I didn’t have TV time back then and comics were my best friends. My favourite genre was Superheroes and Superman and Batman were my favourites. Later on I branched of into reading other comics such as Spider-man, Tintin and various Indian comics from Amar Chitra Katha. The stories,characters and world building expanded my imagination and views in so many ways; it literally defined my early childhood. It made me an avid reader and helped me pick up more literary works such as novels and philosophy very early in my teens ahead of my peers.

Sometime in my late twenties, when I visited a bookstore I suddenly wanted to collect some of my early comic books as a memory to cherish and share with my children someday. That and many other stores I visited after did not have any of the back issues and had only compilations of those stories in Trade paperback form. While I got myself a TPB, it didn’t give me a joy of those same single issues where the stories were originally printed. I initially assumed the chances of me getting a single issue from 1987 were close to impossible.

Then I searched the internet and was able to find that issue and connected with a lot of similar collectors around the world online who helped me begin collecting the issues I like. Thus began my journey of collecting my favourite comics, key issues, first apperances, iconic cover arts etc.

After a period of 2 years I realized that like me many fans such as yourself don’t have a proper way to collect your favourite issues here in India. Many of these issues don’t exist in India and are mainly located in US. So I decided to begin this unique online store which would make it easy for many comic book fans and fans of pop culture to collect your favourite issues here in India. My ultimate goal is to build a community of Comic book Collectors and I look forward to your support in this endeavour.
